Noise In Rear

No, it's not the diff clutch noises. It's only noticeable at very low speeds; a fairly loud clanking type noise which reminds me of a loose wheel lug nut rolling around inside a hub cap. My WAG is something inside the parking brake drum has broken/come loose and is rattling around at low speeds. Anybody had a similar issue?

Does it happen while turning or going in a straight line? If it were something in the parking brake, pull it while driving to see if the noise changes. If it doesn't, it's NOT likely in the parking brake.

what if the noise happens when your turning slightly or sometimes on full turn,
sounds like rubbing, but no signs of marks on the tires or wheels

Check your plastic wheel liners for rubbing marks.

Are you running wider than OE tires?

From the description this seems to be the infamous cowbell, which usually is a rock caught in between the brake disc and the backing plate. (Search "cowbell" and you'll find lots of threads on m3post.) Tap on the plate and see if it has the same note. Sometimes some hard braking can free it, or you can try with your fingers. If it's not the same note, well, just ignore my comment.
