Will the BMW M3 bow to Nissan?

BMW, its time to step up to the plate. I have a really wild idea. How about you stuff that Twin-Turbo V8 from the X6 into the M3 CSL. Tweak the boost ofcourse. Add your new AWD system to the car and it will be ready to fight.

Check out the full test of the GTR. ABSOLUTELY SICK...Looks like the world will bow at the alter of the GTR....for now at least.

Oh my gosh - the GT-R is a Porsche Twin Turbo beater.

The M3 won't hold a candle to the GT-R in any performance category, not even close.

I know man. Something must be done. BMW dosent take very well to competition. I mean we should all thank INFINITI personally for the N54. I guess we shall see. I mean nobody expected the n54 in a car as big as a civic right? (135i)

A GT-R will blow the doors off an m6 too.

Theyre also not in the same league. GT-R has P cars in its sights, whereas an M6 is more of a touring cruiser.

Despite the inferior performance, I would personally never be able to fully take advantage of the Nissan, and would probably still prefer an e92 M3 to the GT-R for daily driving, though I have obviously never driven either. If pure track domination was the purpose, id go GT2 or GT3RS all the way. Only if I were ballin on a budget would I really consider a GT-R, even though its likely going to be one of the best cars on the road. I just dont loves it the way I loves M cars and P cars.

btw id like to see more pics of the car in the OP's avatar. White S2k + hardtop + wheels and suspension = secksy.

the gtr is growing on me everday as a next car. seriously this is the regular gtr not even the vspec and its already 0-60 in 3.3 and quarter in 11.xx @120mph....

i still do love the m3 though. always wanted one .

the 996 turbo is always an option too in the future. that with a techart kit, evoms gt700-800 kit maybe something cheaper depending on the $$ factor lol, rims, bbk, and i should be good to go.

but if you REALLY think about it and not being a badge whore.... the gtr is the best bang for the buck. and in future once nismo and other jap tuners start tuning the beast you can only imagine what numbers you will be getting.

There's nothing that BMW currently makes that can perform like the GT-R. Not saying they couldn't make something better if they tried, but I doubt BMW has the balls to make something of that caliber with all the compromises necessary.

MY .02 is that BMW will introduce a TT version of the M3 in 2009/10 based off the X6 engine.....
Unless you just don't want a TT car, no one should purchase a M3 before then or just lease one for 2 years.......


If they do, I will own it, if not, I will own a 2010 GT-R

i don't think bmw will do that. my refrence being the s54 engine. s54 has always been in e46 from start to finish. i believe bmw will just make the 6mt and dct based on same engine with no plans on changing the engine through later years.

Enjoy your GT-R, then.
BMW won't use their newly developed V8 for two years only. That makes no sense in terms of development costs. Besides that the V8 TT doesn't suit the idea of high revving M cars, the redline is at 6,500 rpm!

Lets see what the CSL will have in store. But I will say that it's virtually impossible to compete in a 0-60 with an all wheel drive car no matter how much hp a rear wheel drive is putting out. And keep this in mind. If bmw is willing to turbo their ///M5 then they'll most likely turbo their ///M3.
