It's only a car.....I know that it's a PITA but insurance will pay if something happens. I used to be nuts about that stuff by I toned down....every car I got had a little misfortune at one time.

The OP obviously came to reason...but I am still wondering what the big deal with the " Xdrive" really is!

I believe that the additional upfront cost + additional gas consumption + loss of torque and/or power really does not offset the benefits. In the end, some good snow tires will probably be sufficient most of the snowy days and, if not, just stay home. I am just not able to equate BMW to all wheel drive... but may be it is just me??

Ok sorry for being but I could no longer resist!
