Brilliant Break-In 48hours later

Well after taking delivery of the Brilliant White E90 M3 on Friday we hit the road for AZ the next day. We left Austin at 6pm and arrived at home in AZ around 9:30am, so the 1200 mile break-in was complete in less than 48hours.

We made sure we stopped several times and varied the speed along the way. A friend of mine helped me do the driving so we able to power through to AZ.

Here are some stats:
  • Average MPG: 19.1
  • Average MPH: 70.2
  • One speed warning
  • One Sunset
  • One Sunrise
  • One McDonald's stop
  • One Sonic stop

The 1200 mile pic is blurry, and DSC malfunction lights are on. This will be resolved during the break-in service appointment.

Here are some pics from the trip. Enjoy!

It is DINAN exhaust. I have listed the mods in my other posting.

My buddy was driving and doing 78mph in a 65mph zone. It was 2:30am when we were pulled over by a female highway patrol. To her credit she was nice and asked if we were liking the car.

So far so good on the DINAN exhaust. I have not really been above 6000rpm's yet, but the tone is not too loud. It has a deep tone at roll-off and low rpm's which I love. At cruising speed you really don't hear it and there is no drone at all. Unfortunately, I am not able to compare it to another exhaust as I have not heard any others first hand in person. I purchased it during their rebate period and the dealer was a DINAN dealer, so that is why I went with it.

I would like to run an X-Pipe of some sorts with it though. Not sure which one to go with, but AA X-Pipe seems to be pretty popular.

Thanks!

Great idea! Those boots look great with the wheel - they bring the whole interior together.

Where did you get those alcantara boots with the white stitching? Are those OEM? I have been looking for those forever and even Leather Z doesn't do white stitching. Can you share where you got them?
