It was a pearl white CLS. He kept saying it was stock and 560chp, but had been running hard on what would be much faster cars all day. I kept asking him and he said he had a tune that gave 60 chp which ended up being at least 60 at the wheels. Right as we were about to roll out for our run, he said it had 650 ft/lbs tq or some number in the 600's.

Yeah, I saw him running against some STIFF competition. Those cars are serious with that tune as would be expected with the bi-turbo. I just thought that guy was pretty lame refusing to tell ppl that he had the tune. Part of the fun was just seeing how I was able to do against higher HP cars which is why I ran him.

Nice runs! Those Weistec cars are ridiculously quick. In a straight line they destroy any E92 out there, plain and simple. I think the one that was running put down mid 800whp+ if my memory is correct. May have been even faster for that event. I would like to see how you do with your car running better. I am actually a bit surprised that he didn't pull harder if your car wasn't running 100%. Your car is quick! At the end of the day the BS is still a boring ass automatic Benz IMO. AMG needs a DCT at least. I'd take your car (hell even my 600whp) over that any day of the week.

1) The transmission in the c63 black series has a dual clutch - it's the new upgraded MCT, not the slushbox in the older c63s 2) The C63 Black Series isn't a boring automatic Benz. Ever drive one? It actually tromps the M3 in absolutely every aspect - handling, power, etc. Its worlds apart from a regular C63, especially the way it handles. It's a more balls out racecar (rough suspension ride, bucket seats, etc), as where the m3 still retains the duality of a street car/track car. 3). JRCarts C63 did not DYNO in the 800whp range. Last I heard it was in the high 600s at a relatively mild boost and has more in it with race gas and a more aggressive tune. Both Drew's car and his car definitely can push out more power, the dual clutch transmissions (or lack of a reliable/proven upgrade) are the bottlenecks at this point. I think Weistec has something in the works for the Black Series. |

Umm... the MCT in the C63 is still an automatic transmission not a real dual clutch like the M3. It is just a modified automatic to use a wet clutch instead of a torque converter, but the rest of the transmission is still old technology and very heavy. Only advantage is has it was designed for much higher torque.

As mentioned above, it is not a DCT. Have you driven one? It is dull compared to a DCT. Doesn't even feel close. Feels like a sporty automatic. I owned a C4S with PDK and even though its a DCT, it was dull compared to the M3's transmission. Better than the MCT though.
Yes, I had a short drive in a C63 BS with minor upgrades - nothing Weistec level though. It definitely felt better than a C63 but the transmission still killed it for me. How fast the transmission shifts doesn't make a big difference in enjoyment at this level. The PDK is extremely quick but not fun (now changed for the GT3 I believe). Also, if I recall correctly, the difference even between the M3 DCT and the ZF auto in a 335 is tiny in terms of shift times. Much more to it... From some of the things JRCart has mentioned compared to his "1000hp CLK BS" he is probably around the ~800 range especially at this event. Makes sense compared to how he did against other cars. I remember a dyno but maybe I'm getting things mixed up. The stock M3 DCT seems to be near its limit with these higher builds like Drew's car. Of course you can push out more if you start changing things...just as you can with any car. The lack of a DCT in the AMG helps it here. Competing with that Weistec is very unlikely without some serious work done to the M3 Quote:

Are you referring to 800 crank or wheel? I'm pretty sure high 600/low700 wheel is around where his car is. |

Very true - personal preference.
Was referring to whp. If he was at high 600s/ low 700s wheel I don't think he would have beat the cars that he did. I was following a thread of his on another site where he strongly indicated this as well.

JRCART's CLK Black Series is putting down 960whp, runs on DR's and skinnies up front and also weighs over 4100 pounds. |

I'm going to have to disagree though I love that Weistec car, it is an AMAZING machine and I would love to own one, it certainly has more potential then we have in stock form. It will be very difficult and take some time before we can even come close to competing with the 1000HP AMG, they really did a great job with both cars.

Drew, this is Rich, I am Jim/JRCARTS friend, we met and talked several times this weekend at the event. Your car is amazing. After your race with Jim the announcer joked that now you will definately be selling your car. If you are ever planning on getting rid of it please shoot me a PM.

These are all Weistec videos, they post them to their youtube channel so if you watch one they show you thumbnails of other Weistec vids. What I like about Weistec is they are not affraid to post up vids of when we got beat. You will find a video of JRCARTS CLK getting beat by a 960whp SPE GTR at last months No Fly Zone event and I beleive they are putting up a couple vids from this event in which JRCART lost.
