Post I have the G35 as a Rental car...

I have an 07 G35 as a rental car while I get my bumper fixed and it's such a huge dissapointment in everyway.I really don't see how MotorTrend thinks it's comparable to the 335, at all firstly it's styled like an altima and doesn't look a sports luxury car to me more like a Buick thats trying too hard. But since styling is subjective and diffrent people have different opinions My observations are:

This car is pointless without the sports package wobbles like a crown victoria and doesn't feel stable in corners. The tires squeal every opprotunity they get even when merely parking they chirp due to the tourqe I assume.

The brakes are garbage! Lets just say I was driving pretty fast (triple digits) and getting it to stop was frightening the wheel started to wobble like crazy from fade I guess I honestly don't see how or why but I've done ALOT worse in my 335 with no problems.

The interior feels extremly cheap. My girlfriend wouldn't stop making fun of it.lol.But seriously it rattles alot of places. And the door panels feel very flimsy if you push on it slightly it seems like it's secured to a pillow it flexes alot (try that in a BMW).And a few of my friends complain about the leather feeling cheap and artificial. And based on my experience with my old 04' G35 (same leather) it will show wear easily and quickly. My seat cushion had to be replaced at 24,000 miles due to cracks and deformation.

The sound system is horrible and with the bass set in the middle it distorts like mad once you approach the middle volume setting. And the Mirrors rattle to the point where it's useless! I have a 500Watt JL sub in My 3 and don't have the problem and the G can't even handle it's own bass!

The only thing I can say is the Engine is decent and the acceleration is pretty good however I don't think the rest of the car is good enough for the engine. And the gas mileage sucks compared to my procede 335.

The window seals and trims are starting to deform and peel off and keep in mind this is an 07 car with 14K on the clock.

Anyway overall I don't know what anyone is thinking when comparing the two cars and claiming the G35 is equal or better NO it's really not

All those cars are is a re badged 350z without any of the good characteristics of a 350z I have a friend with one and I rode with him and raced him in my 335i. It felt like shit, looked like shit, and was slow as shit. I hate when people compare them (any Infiniti) to a BMW.

There is just no way to compare a BMW to a Nissan.

The Z was legendary when it had a twin turbo version. The current Z33 is disappointing. It weights a ton, even for a 2 seater and performs OK at best. The interior rattles a lot. I would pick an S2000 over the current Z any day of the week. Also the 350z is not a sports coupe...it's a sports car. A sports coupe is a 2 door car that can seats 4, ie G35 coupe, E92 335i, etc.

The reason the OP is making this comparison in the first place is because many many magazines are comparing the G to the 335i.

What did you expect, you are coming from a car that costs over $5000 more, has a stiff coilover suspension, a TT performance upgrade, and sway bars to a stock rental beater car.

I agree. Drive a G35S, and you'll be much more impressed.

Ya but I'm talking stock for stock my car didn't always have those mods and none of the mods I have change the build quality or stop rattles or change the shitty brakes if I did the same thing to G.Obviously Im not talking about my modded car vs the rental thats like Mike tyson vs Gary coleman.

I test drove the G37S and noticed the tires squealed at every opportunity also. I thought they tires were very overflated though.

One funny comment the sales person had was:
Thanks, I've never drifted before.

the irony here is that you are driving the G35, NOT the 335i because it's in the shop. I hope i dont have any issues with my 335i.

If you read the first post.I dont have problems with my 335i never did there is no irony because my car isn't in the shop for any mechanical reason it's in the shop for bumper damage thanks to some retard that can't drive that hit my car while it was parked at the gas station. And like I said the G still sucks horse balls.

you know the old nissan z the biturbo one in the 90's is faster ro 60 and the 1/4 by a couple car lengths over the current 350....the 335 is about 6-7 car lengths if not more than a mid 90's 3.....see the issue....a 350 is great if you mod it if not its a pos and even when modded still no 335 or m car

Only a 6mt G35 coupe with a sport package could be compared to the E90, and only a 328 would be fair. The 335 is putting it in the range of TT or supercharged G, but overall, the refinement just isn't there for the most part. What's worse is that the Altima coupe has the same lines as the G now and an only slightly less powerful engine, what are they thinking?

Why would you compare an aftermarket turbo G to an OEM Turbo BMW that's silly.First of all the new G is more then a half liter of dissplacment larger to help it out as is.

another hating thread lol

tbh, i think the 335i isnt really that fun to drive. i much prefer driving the G37S, its just the tuning potential makes me want a 335i

i cant believe how much the new V36s improved over the V35s in terms of quality and refinements.
