Haa!! While I'm sorry to hear that for you, I am not surprised...

My CA is pretty good. He knew about the changes etc but we're all still waiting on prices.

When was your order placed?
I gave deposit on 17th of July, with old pkg, tech, premium pkg. Dealer told me we will put it in and see if its accepted. I just got production number on Monday July 26, when I call they gave me code 111 and said scheduled for production but no date as to when it will start yet.

I'd be willing to bet that it will have the Sept. updates. If you do not want those, you probably should call your CA and look at other options (locate the car from existing dealer stock).

If I wanted tech pkg, premium pkg, with old way they built them. With the new pkg how would I order it while not losing anything from the old pkgs, and is there a price difference, thanks.

Convenience package replaces the technology package and also adds rear parking sensors, alarm, and I think 1 other feature (it is basically a more optioned technology package). However, EDC is now a stand alone option...it used to be included in the technology package.

Premium package is the same between the 2 versions (newer version includes power seats b/c manual seats become standard for Sept).

I honestly don't think your CA can go online and build a car using the old specs...so maybe he took your requested options and fit them into the Sept. update specs. As for price, last I checked the convenience package and premium package 2 are still not listed with a price...I believe the price for those 2 options will be released in August.

I thought you could modify right up to the beginning of production? More to follow!
Were you able to talk with your CA and get clarification on his e-mail?

I am getting the M3 vert,so I think power seats still standard. So I will not have EDC, which that means this car will now cost me more. If THATS the case, this sucks, As I will have to add EDC and pay more for the car now. I did not need parking sensors and alarm for another 800 to 1 k.

Just got off the phone. They were contemplating ordering a new car for me but have not as of yet. This is what we know and the CA is as confused as we are...

My car now shows status 150 (Production Started), but it has all the correct options for the Sept build. In fact in the system you can't even build a car with the pre-Sept options/packages. The computer also shows a scheduled build in week 36 which would be the week of Sept 6th. Go figure!

Bottom line: 2 out 3 indicators point to Sept build but no one is 100% sure. And if by some chance it is in production without the options I want, we'll re-order. My lease is up in late Oct and I can extend for a month or two if I have to re-order...

This is all speculation on my part. Best you call your CA for confirmation. If you have the production order number, you can go to BMWUSA's website and see some, if not all of the options listed for your build. That might be an indication of whether it's a Sept. build or not.

Do this...call BMWNA customer line and speak to a representative. Ask them what the estimated completion date is for the car. I just called them and they told me my completion date was 8/31. I attribute this to the month long shut down in August. Given that projection date, I feel less and less concerned that it would be built with the old specs. Likely, I'll have one of the very first Sept. spec builds.

BTW...my CA is telling me the same thing. Production started, but it shows all the Sept. updates...so I really think everything is fine. Likely BMW getting a head start on the new updates as there was likely a brief period of time where no orders could be placed while the system reconfigured from the old options to the new ones.

Didn't even have to speak to a rep. Called BMWNA and the recording today said my vehicle is in production with an estimated completion date of Sept 6th. That jives with what my CA said earlier. Not sure why the cars have gone status 150 so early, but seems to be Sept production as we hoped.

My CA emailed me a pdf of my order. It now shows actual VIN number, it also has the build sheet with all of the Sept build options, it shows that the prod has started, and the BMW OC website also now shows the same status, with all the correct Sept options as well.

I have no completion date or idea when I will actually get the car though... we shall see.

Try calling BMWNA for a status update. You simply give your VIN or Prod # and they'll give you the estimated completion date.

Estimated completion date is Sept 6th. That seems to be the date everyone is getting...

Guess that means I'll see a east coast delivery around the 3rd or 4th week of September...

That seems like a looooong time from now!

The latest update from BMWNA is that my car is now in the body shop. I'm assuming that means painting? Does anyone know if the body shop is the last stop in the production process?

Assembly/Quality (status 155) is the last stop.
