Did you have to get a new controll unit? or just the Euro Bumper and pdc sensors?

Front PDC requires a new switch panel and Control unit since the US control unit only has a port for the rear PDC units.

The 2011 3 Series now has front PDC and ultra bright (almost neon) angel eyes. I wonder when these are going to find their way to the M3?

They won't. The front PDC wasn't done on the M3 because they said the reflectors were in the way and since we're not getting the LCI front end/headlights we won't get the HID halos either. It blows.

It's a cool feature, but be prepared to spend some dough to get it done right. If you do it on the cheap, it'll cost you $2500. That's reeeeeeealy on the cheap. Otherwise, be prepare to shell out $3500 - 4k. You'll need:

4 Sensors
Front PDC Retrofit kit (including the wire harness)
Euro Front Bumper (or a heavily modified US bumper with drilled holes etc.)
Paint for the Sensors
Paint for the Bumper
Front PDC Control Module
Button Display for the dash
Installation of all components
Coding to make it all work

I don't know why they (BMW, I assume) would say that about the reflectors being in the way. If you look at the photo at top of this thread, the outer PDC sensors and the reflectors coexist. So,

Yes, we have installed a number of these kits as well as performing Front PDC programming in house.

We are also using Euro front bumpers, which have PDC holes pre-drilled w/ carriers and reflector delete.

Thanks Tom, can you PM me a price for all necessary parts (less programming since I'm not local)? With and without paint?

wire harness - 100 usd
sensor holders - 3 usd each

Installation cost me ca 200 usd - but it could be much more expensive in usa.
Where did you get the Center COnsole Switch for the Front PDC. Was it used or new $75 is a very good price

Thanks, I dont think that will work for my car. I will need a center switch which has also the Hill Assist switch. So total I will have 4 switches, 2 for the heated seats, 1 for the Front PDC and 1 for the Hill Assist......unless I can transfer it from the current center switch I have. Do you know if this is possible?????

I found one which has the power rear sunshade but cant find one with the Hill Assist

I'm pretty sure your current unit will work. I just picked up this part http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=721346 and disassembled it for a project I'm working on. There's a full-length circuit board inside of it, behind each of the buttons. The little red pieces you see sit between the circuit board and the button to negate being able to push it depending on the function you have. Pop off the button corresponding to the feature, remove the red pieces, and you'll be good to go.

Well thank you for the info that really helps. So I can buy the switch with the heated seats, front PDC and rear shade and I can transfer the Hill Assist from my current one and I would have everything working. The only thing is the Hill Assist has an LED light above the button.

Thanks again for sharing
