The M3 back - What a glorious day!

Long story short - Left my car mid December for a quick DCT leak fix. Filled it with wrong oil. Got it back today with a brand new box/cooler/lines. Have been driving "normal" BMW's meanwhile.

Finally picked up my beauty today. I didn't realize how much you could miss the M3, after all it is just a car. Right..?

The feeling starting her up and enjoying the cold start remind about how much just that sound is worth... getting a gear in and smoothly taking off - exhaust noise, transmission whine, stiff chassis, rock solid planted, steering makes you smile, the joy just keep increasing. Coming up on the roads, DCT shifting buttering smooth, engine heating up and you start to let the RPM pick up. Changing to more aggressive settings, DCT give you a proper shake each up shift while rewarding you with that glorious rev match on you way down... And yet this was only the start of the joyride. Coming weekend it's time for a proper run, finishing with a healthy detail...

Man it is good to be back in the M3!

Cheers

Wrong oil? Why not dump and refill. My car has a DCT leak as well. She is in tender good care.

We started with that idea in mind bit after various good input on the clutch sensitivity (thanks SJL, SSP and other!) in combination with some lack of professionalims from the dealer it ended up with new gear. I'm happy I'm not covering that bill, man these things are expensive...

I had to wait a week and a half for an appointment to come up at my mechanic to change out the brakes, and it was agony waiting for the day to come around. Was so happy when I was able to drive her again. Can't imagine what two months would be like.

Mine is at the shop right now ( new steering wheel/ knob and getting some pant imperfection's corrected)
Car will be there for one more week and I really miss it so bad, I do feel what OP and you are talking about.
Sometimes it is good that the car is locked up somewhere, because the day when you get it back, you fall back in love with it instead of doing stupid stunts like thinking about selling it and all that jazz lol

Thanks again mate, needed support during this what became quite a project.
All fine and even if my car only has 20k miles and DCT felt perfect I must admit this brand one actually feel even tighter incl previous minor clunk is gone.

Cheers

It does man, it certainly does. Been crawling around in diesel loaners, thought the low end grunt should compensate a tad but no Sir. Thats it; the E90 M3 is just about as special a family car can get!

Ps. Even with 18" w tires on I had to start in softest EDC setting to gradually get back to life... man this car is stiff. Niice..

Nice. Been driving the X5d the last month. Probably drove the M3 3 times since beginning of Feb. Absence makes the heart grow fonder with the M3 for sure.

I know what you mean, took mine in December for some front bumper enhancements, was supposed to take 5 days, but ended up at 2.5 weeks. When I got it back, fell in love all over again.
