Has anyone encountered this before?



It's happened a few times now

It's intermittent and can sometimes be cleared by turning it 'off-and-on-again'.

Dealer said it was most likely a low battery (could make sense as it's 5.5 years old), but 1 new battery and £312 later, the fault still occurs.

It's always the same 5 faults....

I've read stuff about it before, but apparently its battery. But if it still happening...?

Are you going to take it to the dealer and get it checked out? Please let us know

I popped this up over on Cutters too...

Looks like quite a well known fault caused by throttle actuators

It did turn out to be a throttle actuator - would have been £1300 if I hadn't had the warranty

I'm way out of warranty. Is it labour or parts thats expensive?

This has been a reported problem here on M3post (if I'm not mistaken one of the more common ones), didn't realise it was that expensive though, good to hear you had the warranty to soak up the cost!

I think it's mostly labour, although I have seen it cost less in other threads while researching (£900ish).

Seems to be this and coil packs. Very glad I've to the warranty, it's saved me about £1500 this year.
