Question for Professional Detailers

Not a big deal but having trouble deciding what to do first. I want to have my front bumper resprayed due to 37k miles worth of rock chips and stuff. The car is also due for a full detail so my questions is should I have the detail done first or the bumper resprayed?

Bumper resprayed seems like the practical answer. Even after a respray of the bumper, the new paint will need to be correctly polished/detailed.

I am not a pro detailer.

Like mentioned above, respray thebumper first. The last person to touch your car should always be your detailer.

Do the respray and then get a good detail.

Some body shops think they 'get' detailing, but more often than not, they don't have a clue.

Also please keep in mind that if you're going to have the bumper repainted, you'll need to wait at least 30-45 days for curing prior to the bumper being worked on by the detailer you choose.

All the above posts were great and I stand with their respective opinions on this issue.

Thanks for providing that info. About to have mine resprayed and was wondering how long to cure. I know its not like the old days but still need to wait.

Thinking about doing the same thing due to chips, etc. Have you thought about filling the reflector holes or leave them as is?

I'm also thinking about clear bra'ing the bumper/hood/fenders after the respray, do I still need to wait 30 days for curing?
