If I had the money, I'd be putting a CSL engine in an E92 and taking out a lot of the unwanted standard parts (nav, iDrive screen, A/C, the bulky seats) and making a CSL replica.

Now imagine if someone swapped the S65 with the 3.2 L S54B32 engine and lightened the chassis and then turbo charged it . . . would that be similar to the next generation M3?

My only input, why do you need such a atrociously hideous wing on the back of a drift car? I hate wings, with a passion and that body kit looks like it was wonderful then they just pushed it wider by 2 inches in all directions.

That is no longer an M3. It is a Toyota Supra with a BMW chassis.

Good point of view. I cannot remember who made it, but I saw on Youtube once a company in Western Europe (I think) who was able to drop an SLR engine in a SLK. I can't even begin to contemplate what you would call that lol. -Hunter |

GTFO, ricer. Anything is possible with money, and you need a lot of it to cram "2000 hp" or even 1,000 into your 20-year old engine. Your 2JZ comes nowhere near the technology, dynamics, or sophistication of an E46 M3 motor let alone the E9X M3 motor. Retarded statement

wonder what version HKS T51R is it, the KAI or SPL...regardless it is a sick turbo with stainless turbine housing v-band everywhere before Tial even thought of anything besides a wastegate.

Also, I had a BPU Supra as a DD for two years so I have some perspective on it. The 2JZ engine and drivetrain are absolutely bulletproof. Could survive a meteor strike without even flinching. However, if you stick with the stock twins you have a laughably non-linear power curve and if you go single, you have varying amounts of lag and the car is basically only useful for a straight line roll-on races. Even though the E39 M5 I replaced it with didn't have the fast 'n furious top end, I would rate the S62 powerplant as "better".

Show me one 2000HP 2JZ motor that was not dynoed on a liberal dyna-pack and that lasted for more than a few races. Talk to any 2JZ builder here in the states or in Japan - those power numbers are not achievable for anything more than short duration drag events and DEFINITELY not streetable. Even all those 800-1000HP builds what they don't tell you is that these guys rebuild every 10,000 miles while running C16 all day - oh and they lose to a 700whp Porsche... If you're going to start talking nonsense then I propose a 5000hp top fuel drag engine into the M3. Stop keyboard racing - horsepower is a fractional aspect of a good motor. |

1. Driveshaft snap causing substantial damage, almost flipping the car, or injuring the driver (usually the hand if you're shifting haha) 2. Blown transmissions including chunks of metal everywhere (what a scattershield is for) 3. Rods thrown through the block. In fact I don't know a single modified 2JZ (beyond BPU) with more than 50k modified miles that has not had engine / tranny failure. The reason for this is simple - when you're pushing a powertrain over 2x their intended power range you cut the life expectancy substantially and things break. Of course very few people actually talk about this so despite the internet myths, the 2JZ is no more or less bulletproof than other powertrains out there... |
