Also +1

When I was in Europe I barely saw any fat people, especially under 50-55. Im in decent shape and 5'11 175-182 (fluctuates of course) and I lost about 5-8lbs the 2 weeks I was over there from all the walking to public transport and food and what have yous. Its amazing what just WALKING does for people. Ive kept the little bit off that I lost just from being a bit more active, and I eat fast food 7-8 times a week.

Perhaps I just noticed how few there were in proportion to the US. I did notice more in London and Dublin then I did in Paris and Prague and Munich though.

"McDonald's MADE ME FAT!"

What a joke. Every adult is accountable for their actions. And for minors, the parents should be accountable.

Um, peanuts and 5guys are both delicious. I wouldn't hate on either. If you're allergic to peanuts, go eat it outside, make somebody else get it for you.

Skinny people that eat fatty/shitty/fast foods are still destroying their innards over the long term just like all the inactive fat people.

There's a reason "you are what you eat" is a popular expression. It's absolutely correct.

I can't even eat fast food anymore because of how lazy I feel five minutes after. Checkers is the worst. Five Guys isn't good enough tasting to justify the wall of sleepiness I end up slamming into.

People are fat because they want to be fat, no other reason. They want to save time and grab fast food, they want to sit down and relax after work instead of hitting the gym. I'll be the first to admit that eating healthy is expensive compared to just grabbing a value meal so there is an element of poverty driven obesity, but even that can be overcome if you want to.

People that try to blame their fat bodies on fast food should be kicked in the balls. There are guys out there selling crack but you're not a crack addict are you, OP? Take some personal accountability for the choices you make and if you want to eat fatty food then take your ass to the gym and work it off.

I disagree that eating healthy is expensive. It isn't. Eating healty prepared food maybe, but it's a matter of laziness there, because healthy food is just as inexpensive as fatass food if you prepare it yourself. I think that is a lot of the problems. Americans can't be bothered to even make frozen vegetables. Again, it comes back to laziness. Too lazy to walk, too lazy to exercise, and too damn lazy to buy food that they have to make themselves which involves more than opening a box and putting the contents of that box directly into the microwave.

I think fast food restaurants should be held responsible for some of the blame, though. I think most of the blame should be put on parents - eating habits of children form early, and continue to be the same for the rest of their lives.

What?

This thread was taken way out of context. I thought the what I bolded in the original post was ironic, that's all. It angered me a little outside. I'm an extremely fit individual who actually goes to the gym all the time. Didn't know everyone would go ape shit.

lol...no worries man. I don't think anyone found issue with your original post...it was your comments thereafter, such as the one where you stated Five Guys was a gateway for obesity.

blaming a restaurant for someone else's inability to exhibit self-control is pretty absurd...don't you think?

It's not even that hard to eat healthier fast food. What about subway, flame broiler, chipotle? It's all up to an individual's choice, blaming the restaurant is ridiculous. They're not the ones stuffing burgers and fries down your throat, YOU are.

Something tells me that you used to be obese and you blame the fast food industry.

Lmao. You couldn't be more wrong my friend. Let's all stop the personal attacks.

I'm with you guys on the self control thing 100%. Sometimes I feel like it hasn't gotten us anywhere though. More education programs are needed.
