not bad at all. ISO is a bit too high in the second to last one (I think).

sorry.. I wouldnt say I'm very good at this,. but I'm gonna critique..

1) I would think if you can focus on that sail boat in front more.. your picture would look that much better in terms of composition (also, show more of the river so that it stands out more.. as I'm not to sure what is interesting to show in the background (city view) ). Also, for some reason, I think this image is pretty soft. but I like the color contrast.

2) I think it is over processed a little.. color too warm and too much "weight" on the right side and its tilted for no obvious reason. (or I might just have missed your focal point)

3 and 4) what is your setting? It seems that the photo is a little bit overexposed IMO.. and for these scenes, you usually need a good tripod with weight so that it stands steady.. and thus, maybe you want to turn down your ISO.. as I see there are a lot of noise.. maybe could try ISO at 400 or less with smaller aperture to reduce the DOF and longer shutter to compensate on the light.

Just my personal preference, and as you know, photography is just really about your own perception/idea.. so if you think these are great as they are, then they are great! I mean, what I like doesnt mean what you would like.. right?

you're absolutely right, i had my ISo setting at 800. i thought it would help with taking night shots...but it just made my night shots look orange and noisy.

awesome comments and i agree with you on all of the pics.

#1 focus was the Prudential Building...it just so happen the sailboat was there....plus that pic is part of a panoramic (i'll post that later)

#2 is def tilted after taking a another look (good eye)

#3 & 4 - Def the ISO was too high (set at 800)...newbie here thinking the high ISO would be good to take night shoots since i use to do that with my sony cybershot point & shoot camera. That's why they look so orangey. Used tripod and shutter priority at 30 sec and the aperture was preset by the camera. i took some pics over the weekend and they look much better. will post them later too.

most of the pics seem a bit too soft or out of focus.

iso can be really annoying. my rebel xt has a bad habit of reverting to iso800 from time to time. at iso100 pics are better though. i cant decide if i like the moon in this one.

im struggling with the bridges up near harvard at the moment. really tough to expose the bridge and the steeple in the back

there is a sweet parking garage just in the north end i want to hit up for sunset shots over the zakim. I parked up there the other night and said 'damn...this would be a great spot for a 135-335 shootout'

I have a canon xs with the kit lens.

just wondering what shutter speed you used and iso?
they look great but try higher shutter with the lowest iso (and a tripod of course) and see how that works

Down causeway from the garden towards the north end. The first and only garage on the right just before the road turns around the north end.

we should get all three whips together one night in august or september for an evening shoot on the roof top. I might be able to rally some of the 1addicts and have an excuse to fumble around with my new 10-22.
