No - just in general racing someone around town at stop lights is dumb.

Was playing with a C6 Z06 on the way into work. I'm guessing he regretted not dropping to an even lower gear

You drive an M3, so your just going to have to get used to people wanting to race you. I usually just ignore them or smile and shake my head.

What I been encountering is douchebags on the freeway. I'm not a slow driver and cruise at 80mph most of the time. So this week i had a a challenger start driving like a maniac to catch up to me and then flew by me, didn't even try to race me... Just flew by me? Today a had an EvoX do the same thing, this guy ended cutting me off

They aren't the fastest out there, but I wouldn't say 0-60 in 4.4 isn't that fast. Still faster than the majority of the cars on the road.

Truth is, we really don't have anything to prove in an M3. Crap Hondas, Civics, Camaros, etc are all trying to prove something. The M3 is a nice fast car, so enjoy being fortunate enough to have it.

BTW, you will eventually get your feelings hurt by a turbo diesel. There are a lot of 11 sec 1/4 mile lifted 4x4's running around. Just smile and let them go. How many Porsche, AMG, Jag guys do you see entertaining this kind of stupidity?

They've been clocked even faster than that...

I have an AW e92 M3 with red caps and wheels and that has always garnered attention. However, ever since I installed a matching red VRS wing, front canards, BBK and larger front splitter, it's gotten out of hand. First time out I had 2 near accidents of other drivers recording my car as they pass and slow down by me on their cellphones and I've had 3-4 encounters with a Mustang and a couple of Hondas. I've ignored all of them except for one Audi. He stopped beside me and rolled his window down to give a thumbs up. Revved his engine and I did the same. Kid went nuts when that S65 roared ;-) oh yea, it's only been a week x.X

jesus christ brother - an 11 sec quarter mile pick-up truck? if they are out there, I haven't come across one yet.

GTR / audi r8 v10+ likely loses in that matchup . . . sounds like BS.

Well said. I enjoy the car at any speed. However, it is annoying with the amount of idiots who want to race or otherwise behave like jerks around the car. Some Cadillacs too. In any case I don't see Porsche drivers driving like that. But I have come across an AMG guy who wanted to make a point. I just let him pass.

Makes me want to debadge the car.

A few weeks ago some poor bastard put his new Subaru into the wall at a PBOC track day, trying to keep up with the Porsche's and BMW's

He totaled the car, and I'm sure his wife had some choice words for him when she found out his insurance won't cover a penny of it.

Pickups that can outrun an M3 over any appreciable distance, especially once rolling, are unicorns. Lots of talk about them, but never seen it. Plus, who cares? There are also '72 Novas that can do it. Which would you rather drive? You think they're challenging you because they thing that POS truck is the sweeter ride?

Well, you can forget all that. The new car is fitted with a turbocharged straight six. Turbocharging? In an M car? That’s like putting gravy on an ice cream.
