1 yr after the in-service date or 1yr after the 1200 mile service? Tia

Thats correct for non-M cars.

it's either 1 year from in-sevice date, or 1 year from last oil change.

If you reach the one year mark before the servicing is required then it probably means that you don't drive the car a whole lot so an oil change once a year is good enough.
