X-pipe and fuel mixture: richer, leaner, or no change?

Hi guys. I have a few questions for those of you who have experience with installing an X-pipe on an otherwise stock car.

1. Does it cause the mixture to run richer or leaner, and to what degree?

2. Does the factory software adapt, and to what degree?

3. What am I leaving on the table if I do not get a tune with an x-pipe in terms of whp/wtq?

4. Finally, what is the difference when you add HFC's to the x-pipe?

I know all cars are different in terms of their state of tune with stock software, but I would assume all would react in similar ways to the addition of an x-pipe. Thanks for your help in advance.

Give me a call if you like I live in Livermore and I have 2 verts, one with Fabspeed xpipe HFC installed. I would be happy to answer any questions you have. Scott 925 699-5366.

I've had discussions with one of the tuners on this, and basically have been told on a torque-based engine based management systems (like our EMS) that air fuel ratios don't actually matter too much, as the ECU basically adapts timing and other functions in attempt to reach a target torque output. To that end you don't need a "custom" tune for this modification (flamesuit on)...

If you leave the factory down pipe in place, you are probably missing out on 10-15WHP. An HFC won't make much difference in terms of power (might lose a few HP), but generally will give you better low RPM torque (like around 2000-2500RPM) than a catless down pipe.

Thanks for the input so far. Anybody got dyno sheets with AFR included to show the difference?
