European Car Magazine picks M3 over RS5

RS5 runs it close, but according to the editors of European Car the E92 M3 is still tops and more special:

Excerpt for European Car

"Which would we take home? The Audi might be the more relaxing daily driver but the M3 is simply the more entertaining, more of a racecar for the road. It carries its motorsport heritage more obviously than the Audi. In fact, it feels different from any other BMW, where the RS5 feels like a faster, noisier S5."

Can't be mad at the RS5, I like it. It would be my second sports GT coupe choice, "after" the M3 in this class.

Read the article....they use test numbers from "Motor Trend" at the end of the article.

The magazine is a big butt kiss for advertiser's products. Waste of $3

What else is new? Frankly, I think I'm getting bored of the M3 winning everything. Would love a dropped RS5 in white though.

This may be true - but at least they seem to have come to the right conclusion. Why they posted MT's test numbers is interesting - this is the first I time I have seem them do so. Perhaps the publishing company who produces MT bought them out, I wouldn't be surprised, nothing unusual in the publishing world

Audis have improved quite a bit over the years. I drove a fren's S5 V8 recently. It steered and handled much better than i had expected. The steering was sharp and accurate albeit without feel. The engine and twin clutch gearbox combo wasn't exactly exciting, but taken in perspective, it's pretty decent.

Yeah, MotorTrend, European Car, Eurotuner (now shut down), and Hot Rod are all owned/published by Source Interlink, which bought the titles a few years ago from Primedia.
