rant: pacific bmw

I had a blown front passenger tire a week ago. My car ended up going to pacific bmw in glendale after being towed. Unfortunately, it was a saturday night and service was close on a sunday. So i had no choice but to leave my car and wait till monday morning for the service crew to fix my tires. When i went to pick up my car, i found out from the service dept that there was a bumper damage, at first they were trying to blame me but when i showed them the pics of my car with no bumper damage, they retracted and agreed to pay for the repair. After this whole incident, i decided to go to another shop but according to the dealership, they don't allow it and that i need to go to the shop of their choice. I will be going there this week to deal with the service manager and need some input from you guys. Thanks!!

Don't worry man. Allow them send your car to the body shop of their choice. I purchased my car (heavily discounted but with half an inch deep scratch on the driver side door) from them. Prior to picking her up, they sent the car to the shop for repair. The shop did an amazing job. The work was flawless.

Deceitful azzholes. Take your car far away from them. Too late! Trust breached...

Thanks guys for your input and comments. I called the service manager multiple times with no call back. And yes this is the same dealership with the 1M issue.

I would demand that they give you the bumper, and a reasonable amount to get it painted and installed. There's no way they can demand you to go to their shop: its YOUR car, its YOUR paint, therefore you should have it YOUR way. If we damage a car ( which has happened to every BMW dealership in the world ), we offer the customer all the parts either painted and installed by our BMW Certified Collision Center, or shipped to the shop of their choice.

In Mass, and I thought all states, you have the right to bring your car to any body shop. No one can tell you otherwise. They are most likely trying to save a buck.

I think that's only if it's through insurance?

Pacific did a small damage on my car as well while it was there; but it was repaired and I couldn't tell. If they hadn't told me, I wouldn't have even been able to guess it had happened

Mineral White is also not an easy color to fix.

Good luck

Pacific Bmw is the WORSTE!!!!!!!! Dealer to do anything with whether your buying a car, buying parts, or getting your bmw serviced. I bought my x5m with them last December, I walked in right when the dealer open and knew which car I was buying because I went the previous day to make the process faster. And I ended up walking out of the dealer with the car an hour after the dealer closed and mentioned to the salesman multiple amount of times not to drill the holes in the front Bumper yet they still do, and try to convince me that it was already drilled which was not because the car was sitting in the showroom floor. Anyways as time passed the car started giving problems so I took the car for service and they refused to take the car in every time and accused me of causing the problems. I made the mistake once and it will never make it again. from there on I've been going to mckenna bmw and they have amazed me with there customer service skills coming from pacific bmw. If pacific bmw was the last bmw dealership on the face of this earth, I would much rather not drive a bmw then deal with this horrible dealer .
so do yourselfs a favor guys and never go back to pacific bmw again
