Not in my opinion. When I bought my car in October, I saved 19.5% over the best price I was quoted in the GTA.

Out of Province could be your best best

Thanks! I used to commute to Regina back in the day but am now local in Ontario. Will check it out as soon as I figure out my finances.

Did I read that correctly? 19.5%? Assuming you were quoted about 5% off the MSRP in the GTA, how did you manage to get ~15% below invoice from the neighbouring province? Unless your GTA quotes were above MSRP for some reason.

Maybe I need to buy from out of province next time too. Do Share!

could he mean like this ?

If the discount he quoted for in T.O. ... say $5000 ... when he says 19.5% saved over the best price ... could he mean $5000 * 1.195 = $5975 total discount off ... therefore, that's $975 more in discount ... I wonder myself

+1

If he got 19.5% more OFF the car I'd shoot myself. I think it makes most sense that he got Toronto discount x 1.195 as total savings.

Here's the deal.

The car I bought was a demo it has 4K on the clock.

The retail new was $92,000 they had it listed for $86000 and I paid $72000

end of story.

This is now the third car I've purchased from this dealer. As for shipping they send it to me at N/C.

Sorry! Demo. In that case, I do admit it's a good deal.

Nice deal but a demo with 4k is not at all the same as a good discount on a new (ie. factory order) car... which is what I assume the OP is looking for.

For reference I saved just over 7% on my factory order E90 M3 in July... and that is from a dealer in the GTA. I think I did ok based on what I've heard on the forum.

+1. Can't compare pricing in a 4k demo to factory order.

Congrats on your car though OP. Enjoy!

Perhaps a demo isn't comparing apples to apples and this might not be either however...
I also purchased a brand new '08 (mind you it was already on the Dealers lot) and I saved 15% and yes this was 3 years ago.

All I can say is in my personal experience going out of Province has proved very successful.

ffejk I hope you find a great deal wherever you end up buying

I saved 15% on my new 2008 as well (again local GTA dealer) but I'd say that was a different situation entirely, at the time there was high inventory levels and low demand due to the economy. From my view I don't see much benefit to purchasing out of province, if anything that will only hurt you when it comes time to service your car given dealers give preferential treatment to the people that buy from them.

To compare a discount on a Demo to a new car is a pointless exersize.I can offer a 32% discount from list on my 2011 F150 Platinum that has 15000 kms on it.
