Spend $13k on Super Charger or towards paying off the M3

Should I spend the $13k on a Super Charger or put that money towards paying off the car?

* I owe $35k on the car as of now...

* The loan term is for 3 more years...

What should i do?

Your going probably hear people tell you to do the responsible thing but it's ultimately your decision.

Get a supercharger is the right thing to do. Paying off your car is over rated

neither

you should get an ess 535 kit for 8K (9k installed), then put the rest of the money towards paying off the car. no reason to have more than the 535 if you are just cruising on the streets. the car will rip and be plenty fast enough. the 535 is the best bang for the buck for sure.

and unless you are tracking in hot weather, i wouldnt worry about needing an intercooler. and i may even consider running a 91 octane tune and using 93 octane fuel on the track just to give you that extra margin for error.

my car makes 400whp (turbo M car, not an m3) and is not quite as fast as a DCT 535 (very close) and my car is WAY too fast for the street and really even too fast at the track. its fun as hell though

If you have an open Loan paying it off faster will save you on interest. If it not then it really doesn't matter. It's you choice

If you don't track your car much, buy a VT1-550, there's plenty of power and it's relativly cheap, run 93 of 94 octane if you have access to it, it makes a BIG difference in power!! I have the older VT1-535 kit with stock cats and run 94 all the time, my car is manual and I beated a Gallardo on the highway yesterday and was pretty much equal with a new M5 2 days ago! I'm installing test pipes tomorrow morning, and that should be it for me, unless Roman/Ess offers me to upgrade my kit to a 550 for free!

Seriously I say that a lot because I believe it, the VT1 is all you need for the street!! A 550 kit with 93-94 octane and test pipes should put you around 600hp, that is just perfect for this car I think!

Don't pay $13k for a SC. There's better deals out there.

I would just go stage 2, same installation requirements and you will be happy doing it once.

Paying off 1/3 of your debt will save you some interest maybe, but the difference you save may not bring as much to the table 500+ WHP will.

I made the same decision a while back, if you turn around and don't want the car simply remove and recover your money and it will be a small amount paid to play. The only thing I can say is that once you drive it S/C you will not be entertained in a stock or FBO M3. The thrill you get hitting boost is something out of this world.

Hope you make the right decision (and go S/C! ) and don't look back, you will not regret it that's for sure!

Buy a preowned setup my friend and save a lot of $.

Best bang for buck on preowned kits right now. Can vouch for the owner personally. Hit him up!

The american thing to do would be getting the supercharger!

Besides if your car is an 11 vert and you only owe 35k, then you put enough money into it already IMO.

also, i gotta get warm fuzzy being that its pre-owned...i will be inheriting whatever issues i run into versus a brand new in box SC.

I'd get a pre owned kit also... But makes me wonder why so many pre owned kits come up for sale.

There are lots of kits where people put the SC on for several thousand miles then they decide to sell the kit and the car

What I would do is pay off the car and either pick up a pre owned kit, or a new kit that has zero percent financing for 6 months... I think there are some vendors that do that. Then if you don't pay it off in 6 months, you can do a balance transfer to a credit card that has zero percent.

The used kit above is being sold because he purchased a f10 M5 and sold his car. He had it for a couple years so I guess it was time for a change.

my position is I owe nothing on mine. everyone's financial position is different. you cannot take the money with you, but make sure you have some to retire. if your retirement plan is not well past 7 figures, it is too small.
