Suggest a good tint shop in queens/NYC please!
hey can anyone recommend a good tint shop in Queens or Manhattan please? i want to get tints asap and want to go to a professional shop and one that deals with high end cars and has good quality tints!
ps- do i ask for that moleskin to prevent the scratch lines? or is that not needed for the e92's ? (i read it was a big issue on the e90 sedans for some reason).. thanks in advance everyone |

I just got my 135i tinted by Tom - The Art of Tint - and one of his assistants today. The tint he used was 20% Ceramic Llumar. The job was done immaculately. He and his assistant did this job in less than one hour. He met me where I park my vehicle, his usual price by $50 because he did not have to rent a spot where he does some of his work downtown. I simply met up w/ him at the garage, moved the car to under the light, and they went straight to work all the while maintaining a full conversation... this guy has been doing this for decades, and was one of the first if not the first to do a one piece back window in NYC. Price is right for immaculate results. Yesterday he did a yacht. He does work for BMW dealerships. I highly recommend him if you are looking for a good tint job.

I had mine done at Tintmax and it wasn't a good job. They use 3M tint (which had 30% that I liked) and it's laser cut but they use glue for the dot matrix on the rear window and it didn't come out very good. I can see part of the glue still rolling down in one section, and many parts of the dot matrix are much lighter than other parts. Not uniform at all. Further, my interior passenger door panel has a small hole towards the top that was done by one of them, and I had a lot of scratches on my roof by the rear window that I still haven't buffed out (either when they used their squigee or when they were using a large blow dryer on the tint). They offer lifetime warranty on it but I've been hesitant to go back, plus my vehicle is a lease just not worth trying to correct it. I heard jobs done by the owner are very good but I clearly didn't get the same treatment!
