Talking They're So Pretty!! - My new ST-40 Front Kit

I know this should probably go in the Brakes section, but they're really for my track use.. so that's my excuse

Took about 2 hours to install them myself, pretty straight forward, all directions included, and nothing left over .. ha

Already loaded them with Pagid RS-29 and RS-19 in the rear (stock rear still).

Ready for PBIR on 2/1/2014.

Thanks for looking

EDIT 9:54PM 1/22/2013

Just finished bedding the pads, man, these things feel great. Now, there's no where near the feel of the track, but on a long empty road, doing the 5 hard stops, you can just tell the power behind these things. I think I almost unclipped my rear seats breaking, absolute power.

I've heard/seen it here, but until you actually have them, no one can't really explain or put into words the confidence it inspires.

Update #2

Crappy side views, taken with phone, oh well.

Nice! Believe you'll be impressed with the performance. Especially with the Pagids. You going to bed them in ahead of time? Might have to head out to the 'glades to do so. I've got some long empty farm roads up here that suffice.

Thanks for the link, I have some roads around here with long, long straight aways to get this done. Will wait till later, there's no traffic where I"m heading after 10pm or so.

Thanks

Awesome. Does the kit come with instructions? Why'd you choose the ST 40 over the ST 60?

Kit comes with full instructions and what tools you need to get if don't already have. Also found the PDF versions on here, which were nice to have on my ipad.

I went with the ST40 for:

1) I don't need the ST60
2) More wheel choices if I wanted to
3) Price
4) Pad rotation for track use seems like a viable thing to do.
5) Weight (though not much I guess)

Was thinking about these or the ap racing essex kit. Seems like the essex kit is far more advanced.

I saw the thread, did my comparing, reading (mostly). Decided on these, because, well they're proven (so is AP) but more members have the Stoptechs, met a few that swear by them.

I'm sure you can't really go wrong with either, bot are a huge upgrade.

Looks good. They wont look so pretty in a couple track days. My rotors are all heat checked and abused. Good choice with the st40, any plans for the rear in the future?

You still going to be at Honestead on 1/26? Can check it out then, need to wash though, car's freaking filthy.

I was thinking red or black as well, but red was first available.

I figured they wont, but as long as they perform, that's what really matters to me. Rears will be going in probably in a couple of months if not sooner.

Lots of noise, but that's pad related for now, since my track day is 2/1 leaving them on for now.

Anyone know if Pagid makes a daily pad? Would make it easier, so I don't have to be cleaning rotors every time.

Thanks

Looks good. I wish my ST's still looked like that. Regarding a more streetable pad, I have had a lot of success with ST performance pads on ST60's. Unless you're looking for that last tenth after several laps I don't think running ST street performance pads on the bbk would be a bad thing. Worked for my ST60s even with slicks and running pretty hard.

I have a full set of st performance pads for st-40 that I won't ever use if anyone is interested. I ran a set of pagids rs-29, now have st-34s and am trying cobalts next.

I was looking for same manufacturer type thing, kit came with ST Pads. But I'm running PAGID RS29 for the track, wanted I don't know PAGID Street (if it exists) to swap for daily use.

Just so I don't mix compounds, otherwise, I'll just run track pads daily, done it before.

Yeah I wasn't suggesting you would want them since just got a set but anyone else. I just have used track pads exclusively in both my e90 and e46. Don't really care about the squeal!
