335is alignment specs

first alignment for e93...rear tires were fine, front wear on inside and outside, while pressure was high...

Going Monday to get the car aligned...what should I ask for?

Interestingly after M3 arms - bushings - sways & Ground Control street/school install, I set toe w/strings & camber w/iPhone. Ride height dropped roughly 3/4".

Front camber measured when was delivered to alignment shop = -2.5°
Rear camber = -1.5°

Handling delightful. Remarkable and rewarding in turns....no end to it. Steptronic unexpectedly smooth....glass smooth & silky....nope, haven't figured that out yet.

After alignment shop adjusted to 1.5° camber front 'n' rear, ride significantly degraded, comfort & back road handling, yet I'm sure my tires are sending good vibes to me now. Everything works of course....yellows & linear springs yield firm ride + tight tight handling. Suspension very quiet. Little lean now - was more w/more neg front camber.

But, dang it was good while it lasted! Was the candle burning @ both ends?

OK since no responses, ask for factory spec - you'll be happy.

Indy or dealer doing alignment?

I was going to go INDY, ask for zero toe max camber (stock is suspension won't be too aggressive, possibly help against dual wear on tires)

If memory serves, and assuming front mounts haven't changed since '09, pulling pins on front mounts'll get you -1.5 degrees; stock spec rear's at -1.5 degrees.

Some say zero toe's good - gotta look into whether that creats pos or out o'spec toe w/suspension travel....

These were my target settings based on combing through a bunch of threads.

Front
Toe: 1/16" Total toe in
Camber: -1.5 deg

Rear
Toe: 3/16" Total toe in
Camber: -2.0 deg

I'm pretty happy with the handling results. I haven't put that many miles on it since, so I can't comment on the tire wear. I have coil overs and camber plates, so your results may vary.

While 0 toe in the front probably helps with tire wear, the front end will be darty. If you need quicker steering for AutoX, you can adjust the toe yourself at the track and then set it back at the end of the day. Just make sure you mark the orientation of the nut before you adjust the toe. A simple half to full turn should get you to 0 and back.
