track day experience..

Just a short report from my track session, last 20th.
Half an hour at high speed in a track with just a lost of
probably 10-15% of braking capacity. Sure I wouldn't call
it a problem...My car is stock. As many do in Italy where
I am, it could be enought to change brake line, oil and
b.pads, and that's all for people like me that will use only
"few times" the car on a track...I tell you what a satisfaction
to run so fast and without any troubles....

tks Bmw...

Nice video savage. That GT3 (or whatever flavour the Porsche was) never really got away from you .... saving his brakes?

Just out of interest, what format did you upload the video in? The clarity and resolution are superb.

Savage thks alot for the video, it gave me a sneak preview of how it feels to be on the track with an M3. I'll soon have the same opportunity you had in a few weeks at PC. Im glad Im going and that you enjoyed yourself too.

Good job

The videorecorder (chasecam pdr100) is able to record in mpeg2 (DVD quality)with a resolution of 720x576 and a costant bitrate of 8192kbps..
Not too bad:-)
Only minor problems with the internal microphone...Not the best.It needs a remote one.

That GT3 RS was not pushing at 100% I am sure...And they were two on board. Anyway good satisfaction for me. I was using only standard fuel at 95 octanes and not 100, and I had standard tires. I used the brakes a lot in that half an hour "session" (you can see for example that I try to reduce the gap from the cars in front of me using brake's power from about minute"6:50"where you clearly see that they are going away from me and my only possibility was to use at best the brake system).I confirm that the excursion of the brake
pedal was a little longer than normal (really a little and after about 6 complete tours)and that not a big reduction in brakes power was reported in my car.
I would like only to confirm that if you use the car 2-3 times a year in a truck (similar to that I used, about 4.200mt and max 210km-h,you will not be disappointed by brakes).
That's my experience.Funny enought for me...
