Any of you SC guys ever run open bypass?
Hello...hope everyone is well! Question for all you supercharged guys out there: I recently upgraded my bypass valve on my kit which evidently needs a different recirculation hose than the one I have (size restrictions) so I capped off the intake and I am currently running an open bypass valve venting out. Is anyone else running like this? I'm just running it like this temporarily until I get the new recirc hose but I noticed that on light to partial throttle the valve stays open and I hear air escaping which makes an annoying metallic ringing noise. It closes once I throttle up to about 50-60% but the light to partial throttle is where most of my drives are done in. Is this normal? With my previous vehicles with turbo setups, the bypass valves never opened and released air unless throttle was at 0% or close to it. Since this is my first supercharged car I figured I would ask. Thanks in advance for all your help guys!

without a MAF sensor, yes you can vent to atmosphere on this car w/out issues. What kind of valve are you running? Depending on the valve you may need to adjust the spring tension to keep the valve closed while driving but not tight enough to induce compressor surge (fluttering) under/out of boost.

It's perfectly normal. Originally I ran by pass valve Vented to air and I switched to a blow off valve vented to air.
