Quad resonator x pipes....

been searching and reading...anyone other than Gintani and Dinan that makes a quad resonator pipe?

what if a guy took an oem pipe, cut out the sec cats and added another set of resonators in their place to get an enhanced sound? stupid idea? too restrictive? didn't see/read of anyone trying something like this.

seems to be much feedback that removal of sec cats adds rasp.

any mad scientists care to comment?

It has been done before. removing secondary cats will make it louder and adding the resonators will help with drone/rasp. Adding resonators will not restrict any flow. You are probably looking at 100 in parts plus labor, my guess 400ish. I would consider a cheap/used xpipe too.

Our catless X-pipe runs quad resonators.

Borla sells one also. Reasonably priced at about $1250 the last time I checked.

Yes, they do. MSRP is about 1700, but direct from borla is about 1500.

I have the dinan paired with an akrapovic rear and it has absolutely no drone, no rasp and just a clean beautiful sound.

I have also been thinking of removing my secondary cats for resonators. Keep us updated if you do this. Anyone know of where/what kind of resonators would be best?

will do. have a couple feelers out to guys selling their oem xpipes.

where would i buy resonators?

so if you see some of my other footprints in the forum, i have the MPE and i want it a tick louder. not concerned about additional power (at this point).

so- take an OEM x pipe...cut out secondary cats, add set of resonators....

inexpensive trial for what may be the right trick?

just looking i see aero and vibrant as two options?

I have MPE and keen to know how it'll sound with x pipe with quad resonators will work.

I'm hoping this would not drastically increase volume and Rasp.

MPE + anything done to middle section = raspy garbage.

This will give you a good idea.

The first vid is x pipe w/ 2 12" bottle type Aero Turbine Resonators.
Sound is cold, very rasp, backfires/pops etc. Sounded very nice, but too much rasp>>

Warmed Up

The second vid is where I added 2 more 12" resonators to reduce rasp even more. Big diff IMO.

This whole setup is for sale as well:

Hartge Sport Rear muffler and custom x pipe 2.5" with 4 resonators (Aero Turbine)

Hey, I'm looking to add a set of resonators to my MS xpipe. Do you mind posting a picture where you added yours? And which resonator exactly did you buy?

Most seem to use 14 inch long, 9 inch body resonators. Not sure 18 or 20 will fit even if you cut the inlet and exit way down.
