2009 BMW M3 base with 220 wheels, will 359 wheels bolt on?

Hello,

I had a look through the various threads regarding 359 wheels, but I did not find an answer to my question. I have a 2009 E92 M3 base with OEM 220, 19 inch wheels. I would like to switch to BMW OEM 359, 19 inch wheels with new tires, TPMS and valves.

My 220 wheels have 245/35/19 tires on the front and 265/35/19 tires on the rear. I plan to use the same tire sizes on the 359 wheels.

Any experience with simply swapping out the 220 wheels for 359 wheels? Were new lug bolts required? Are spacers required to avoid rubbing or just for looks?

Thank you

My e92 is a ZCP, and people only recommend spacers for looks. They’ll bolt right on to non comp cars.

359M are a direct bolt on, use the same lug bolts as the 220M, and spacers are not needed. If you prefer a more flushed look then you can add spacers. I wouldn’t run a spacer thicker than 12 mm but I’d recommend 10 mm (if used, please verify the 10 mm is sitting flush with the brake rotor mounting face).

359M is one of BMW’s best looking OEM wheels.

Spacers require longer lug bolts.

Just buy the wheels and use them without spacers.

Correct. However, the few times I’ve purchased spacers they’ve always included longer lug bolts. There are no safety issues with running spacers considering BMW runs 30 to 41 mm spacers on the f82 M4 GT4 but thanks for pointing out the need to use longer lug bolts with spacers.
