I'd say it's probably fully optioned, and somewhere in the mid/high 70's (...which is why the rep approximated $80k).......
...which makes sense (..somewhat!!!!) considering most of us speculate that the base price for the coupe will range somewhere between $57-62k. |

If it turns out to be true, it shall be an easy decision NOT to buy the M.
I call it BS. Could you imagine, KTLA Morning Show gets the inside scoop and turns out to be the venue for release of the US price? |

Is $80k even a reasonable number to consider with theoretical MSRP of $62k? Thats 18k in options and tax. Well the tax I can see bumping it up a bit that thats still extreme. I was really hoping it wouldn't break the big EIGHT OH.

That will be sad
But if you think about it - it is easy to load the car to that level:
Base 65000 leath 1450 nav 2100 shade 350 heat 500 PDC 350 Ipod 400 Prev sound 700 Sirius 595 DCT 2500 dest 750 gaz guz 2000 76695 5% Tax 80529.75 And That is not all the options. Used M5 (2008 with 5k miles), Z06, 997S, GT-R - all better alternatives Or: Evo 10 + mazda Mx5 + Honda CRv - My whole family will have good cars By, by BMW M3 |

I am not paying 80k for the M3. It better not be anywhere near that.

Good LORD!!
If the fully optioned E92 M3 is $80K, I shudder to think what a fully optioned convertible will cost. In another post, I "guessed" the convertible would start between $60K - $65K. It appears that "guess" was way off base. If the usual $10K premium for the convertible (vs coupe) applies, that would take the M3 convertible's price into the $90's. Unimaginable territory for a 3-series, and certainly too rich for my blood. I've got $75K set aside for the purchase and had my heart set on the convertible. Now I'm not so sure.

The only reason we are even still discussing is because this guy's clueless randomly chosen number is almost, kinda-sorta, if you really exaggerate - justifiable. If he has instead, randomly said $95k, then it'd be a dead point.
And make no mistake - that number was his own creation. No one gave it to him. |
