Where are you on the list? I am #5 at my dealer ($2k deposit) and haven't heard anything yet. I am going to ask tomorrow if they took care of the first couple on the list yet.

At least once we get pricing and the cars are being built, we can get daily updates. Then we get to figure out what ship it's on, which ports it stops at, etc. I would much rather do that than get on here in hopes that something has changed. I like concrete updates, not the idea of an update.

My dealer sent me the options list about a week and a half ago, but I haven't had time to sit down and finalize everything yet. So I don't have an order number either. Have you heard from your dealer at all?

I called my guy awhile ago, and he said they just asked him to start calling ppl to ask them what options and stuff they want. I told him i wanted tech package with Ipod and that i want to wait for DCT. Maybe thats why i havnt heard anything so far...he probably threw away my order list the moment he heard DCT.

Nah, I'm in the same situation. I'm first for a sedan, the order is in https://www.dealerspeed.net/ but there's not order number yet and I haven't paid a deposit. I hope they start releasing the sedans for production next month.

I am waiting to hear more on M-DCT before I start confusing my dealer more. I too will get the 6sp if it is the only option. I can't wait any more.

BMW get on the damn game

The reason IMHO..they are allowing their dealers to get all their orders in first..the dealers already know....or have an idea.....you cannot order cars without some type of price even if it's estimated...NA is a bunch of jerks..and they are full of arrogance..because they know people are going to buy...what needs to happen is the damn car need to sit on dealers lots for a month with no sales..and then see if they are as smug..but nope you guys are gonna run out and buy it first chance ya get...thats why the lease deals on m-cars are so damn bad.........and yeah I'm guilty too...but man I have been looking around and tell ya what, the M3 is sweet..but I'd take a used porsche twin turbo in a sec......beware BMW don't get to comfortable...VW used to be the biggest importer, and GM used to be king..history can repeat....on anyone. Even..."The Ultimate Driving Machine"

I'm down close to Charlotte, and I'll checkout nceuro, there's also a carolinaseuro and a few others. I spend most of my time these days on this forum waiting for pricing information like everyone else.

Yeah. I went up as a guest with a sales rep from Flow; he's a DE instructor up there. If you've never been, and you get a chance, definitely take advantage of it, it's a blast.

I am curious why or better yet HOW you think interest rate cuts affect BMW pricing a German made car in the US?

"Dude...go back to school." to quote yourself.

One way is that relative interest rates are a fundamental determinant of future foreign exchange (FX) rates,

(1 + Rd) = (F/S) (1 + Rf) -> IRP formula

So, how profitable the M3 will utlimately be for BMW AG's shareholders is contingent on a price / cost model, and includes expected FX rates (& cost of hedging). If the Fed cuts rates greater than the ECB, then ceteris paribus, the car will likely be less profitable in EUR/USD translated terms. Hence, a forecast of EUR/USD will be an input into BMWE AG's pricing model.

Indeed, an expectation on EUR/USD is also integral to the stock (as it affects friggin' profits -> share price) - so they do sweat on this stuff.

I say again...go back to school.

The FED's rate still has NOTHING to do with pricing the car. You are making an argument regarding foreign exchange rates WHICH HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH PRICING THE CAR.

Case in point...if it did the freakin' price would have been released A LONG time ago.

And no kidding there is going to be a loss converting dollars to euros.

Exchange rates might impact BMW's earnings, but can't really have too much of an impact on the price of the car as that is determined primarily based on the competition, demand and other local variables.

Also, the more financial savy folks than myself have argued in detail how BMW would have hedged against exhange rate fluctuations on another thread.
