Ecu Hardware Number : 7848125
Ecu Software Number : 7848136

Thank you

No way to tell from that. Dealer can do it with a key read.

can you tell which one I have? My car is a 04/2008 build date. Original software was 7841977, and I had it flashed to 7848137.

You can tell that just from the hardware/software number? I figured that was just some generic part number. I stand corrected.

I just figured out you can also tell which software your running by pulling the hardware reference number. Using mine as an example

Where can one find the hardware reference number?

My DME Number: 07841364 has to be one of earliest, I presume?

Correct. That's not US spec software also, it's Euro spec.

Edit: sorry that's US spec.

Euro is 240EEKEV0

Is there a difference between Euro and US spec software?

Yes, but this is very complicated. There are exactly 3,580 different bytes between US and Euro Spec software. Targeted AFR and fueling is the same. Euro software has slightly more aggressive throttle mapping in normal (comfort) mode, vanos is slightly different, different emissions related settings, etc... Euro spec also doesn't have DMTL.

DMTL? Is it unusual for a US car to have Euro software? That's the OEM software that came with my '13.

Edited my post, that's US.

Looked at it too quickly from phone.

DMTL is Diagnosis Mode Tank Leakage - basically an evaporative system test of the fuel system. US spec cars have it and Euro spec does not.
