Thanks for the great pix and commentary. Ordered mine last week. Joey Hand told me that, if he owned his M3 (BMW gives a new one ever 6 mos. or so) it would be the first thing to add to the car!

Bmw M3 Performance Exhaust
Anybody who has purchased the BMW Performance Exhaust has problems with the black paint inside the exhaust tips? mine is peeling off, hard to believe that BMW used such a poor quality coating paint for such an expensive exhaust, they should have left the tips without any black paint, the titanium looks just great without this black coating

Got a chance to take a few pictures of the M Performance Exhaust before installing it on the car.
Basically, it's a straight perforated pipes with in the muffler chamber, like the ACM mod with perforated pipes. The entire exhaust is a lot lighter (Inconel material) and I can just pick it up by one hand, which I cannot do by the OEM exhaust. Also the exhaust tips are made of polished Titanium. Sound-wise, 1. It is in-between OEM and ACM straight pipe with no noticeable droning at lower rpm (< 2000rpm). 2. Some small amount of droning at freeway cruise rpm (2000rpm - 3000rpm). 3. It is noticeably louder especially at higher rpm with some nice raspy metallic sound (> 3000rpm). Last edited by e92M3C; 10-15-2012 at 03:52 AM.. |

Very thorough review. I would get this exhaust if it didn't have such a high price tag.
