To chip or not to chip

That is the question.the car is fast as is and I installed the performance exhaust so it sounds great.is a chip like the din an stage 1 worth it?

Drive for 2 hours in the "normal" mode ..... then set it to the "Sport or Sport+" mode ... and you'll get the same "effect" as "chipping" .... plus you'll save $1000 bucks

Its a farce - all these tuners do is re-map the throttle - spend the $1000 on a HPDE Track Instruction with BMWCCA or NASA or Skip Barber.

I would say yes but replace the xpipe with an straight pipe and chip it for better results.

it's all about what other mods you have to support the aftermarket tune.
if it's stock it's a bit pointless but if you have xpipes or a supercharger it'll amplify and adjust to boost more power.
a tune was the first mod i got on my M knowing that I'd be doing more performance modifications in the future.

Even with that I think it's best to get the bolt mods first so you know what type of tune you want ie: stage 1 or stage 2.

No point in getting a stage 1 tune to later pay for a stage 2 after you get your bolt on mods.

Just my opinion
