s4play's Ultimate e90 m3 sedan build thread has begun!
After selling my ISF I have been on the hunt for a replacement sedan for my "kid" friendly mobile....last month almost pulled the trigger on a mineral white M5 up in Portland but it was hard to justify spending six figures for a part time play toy with all the expenses right now with 2 kids in daycare Long story short I decided a $50k budget is more reasonable and have some extra cash for mods so picked up a e90 sedan in white of course. Having room for 5 and fold down rear seats made this the easy choice.
I have a laundry list of mods which include some very expensive items so decided to start slow and work on the interior first. Still on the fence if I want this car supercharged or left in NA form. 2/3 of my cars cars are NA and I really seem to enjoy them more than the supercharged car for some reason. I know I want these things but still on the fence about wheels: a) BMW Performance Seats with matching rears upholstered b) Brembo Brakes in Yellow c) CF sideskirts d) CF hood nostrils e) Dinan Intake f) Custom stereo using Focal/Hertz/Audison and JL g) Got some really trick LED upgrades planned too as with all my toys h) New Shoes....BBS or Advan? here's a few shots of her sitting around waiting for UPS to bring the goodies next week, stay tuned as this build gets fun

Nice list, although you plan on re-upholstering the rears in alcantara to match the perf seats could get messed up with the kids in the back or perhaps they are very well behaved!
BBS LM/LMRs/E88s or Advan RG-IIIs..

i used to envy about your old gt3 on the m3forum, especially now with pdk only gt3, the 997 gets even more rarer... nice collection you have there!

I remember that thread from M3f. Also loved your cars. For what a stock M5 was going for, you can do so much to an E90 M3. Can't wait to see the progress, and congrats!

First thank you to everyone for the kind words and warm welcome back. I seriously missed not having a BMW in the garage. I've seen some beautiful builds on this site and hope to have something decent in the upcoming months and if time allows, will try to make Bimmerfest again. It's been years since I attended one and I want to see all the beautiful builds you guys have done as I'm a bit out of touch. I remember I attended the first 6 BF events when it was with Cutter BMW in Santa Barbara and those were good times.
Yea the new M5 is a nice car but it certainly is not cheap and right now we have 2 kids in daycare (easily $2k month) so can't spend that kind of money on a depreciating asset. At least with the E90 m3 I have some leftover cash for mods. The black roof was painted by the previous owner and I really like it so going to leave it alone. He's given me a great platform to build on so I'm happy. Quote:
Coming from the Dakar god himself, thank you, I LOVE your ride! Tan, I sold the ISF about a year ago to a local so the car cruises the streets of SF from what I heard
