where to buy castrol TWS 10-60 oil

Anyone know where to get the best price on oil for our M's? The stuff is so spendy at the dealership....wondering where I might be able to get my best price....willing to buy a case or two for a volume discount.

I went to my dealer last week and paid $11.50 (BMW CCA discounted price) per liter for oil, which was much less than anyplace else particularly since with any non-local order you have to pay shipping. Normal dealer retail was something over $14 per liter.

Do this. I can also get it at about $12 per from my local dealer after the CCA discount. The retail price from all sources has increased over the last few years--I used to have to put a liter in around every 1000 miles on my E60 M5 when I had it!

When I recently priced getting a few bottles from a discount mail order source like Turner, the discount was more than lost by the high shipping cost. This probably only works when a place like Turner is running a free shipping promo.

Update: my local dealer wanted $14.50 but sold it to me for $13.00 with my CCA discount. I told him Turner wanted $13.50 so he came down to 13 to beat them. He said the price they pay has gone up this past year...

I tried to see if the AutoZone in town would have them since it was Saturday night and my oil gauge was showing half full, the guys there never even heard of it and the "expert" counter guy swore I must be running a different grade. Another guy was trying to sell me 5w30, needless to say, I grabbed my gf and ran out of there like Craig T. Nelson in Poltergeist. "Don't look back!!"

I also dropped by an Autozone to get a quick top off. The salesman looked confused when I asked 10w60. He then asked "Is it a M car?" to which I replied yes. He then said unfortunately you got to get it from the dealer. Least some guys at Autozone know their stuff...

Tischer or Turner is usually where I go. I'm trying to do some research to see if I can switch the oil viscosity up but need to see further results. If it was up to me, I would much rather fill the car up with Motul.

After factoring in shipping, the price is more like $10 per quart. Still cheaper than the $13 per quart for the stock stuff shipped as part of some of the deals available, but less inviting that at first glance.

I'm curious, if you need to top off your car, doesn't the maintenance plan cover that? I just ask because I notice a lot of people with '11s responding to this post.

Interesting... I just got off the phone with my service adviser and he says that in between oil changes the BMW service plan does not include topping off oil if need be... when I get home from work will have to comb through the service plan.

Yea, that's garbage. I honestly don't care what the maintenance booklet thingy says, the engine needing oil sounds like "maintenance" to me.
