Official M3 Sighting Thread

Newport Beach on the PCH: 2 total douchebags wearing matching monster energy drink hats in an 08' Black E92 M3. I was driving my gf's 428i and rolled down my window at the stoplight and say they were making some drinks, so I said "hey, mixing some drinks?!? Nice E92 man! I have a black E93".

They both look over at me and say "heh, whatever... what's your point..." Then rip off the line in their bone stock M3. I hope you guys see this and realize how stupid you guys look in a $25k car thinking you're better than every1 else on the road.

After they take off, my gf says "wow that was rude, that's the first M3 owner I've seen you talk to that wasn't friendly". I fkn wish I was in my DB9 or M3 to embarrass those clowns.... They looked about 18-19 years old.

Sadly, this is half of the NB area. I've come across a number of M's and not one enthusiast. I think I'm in the wrong neighborhood...

Delayed post but I saw a ton of you fools at C&C on saturday in SF/Treasure Island. I came late when most of the M's were leavin but I still recognized at least a few of the cars from this forum, including the member with the e90 and giant wing.

Maybe its an OC thing but I dont bother waving anymore.. been rejected too many times with my shit dont stink look.. even when Im in the same ride! Feels worse than getting shut down by a girl! hahaha!

Coming from the VW community where everyone (if modded at least) waves its a rather stark contrast. Though I definitely dont miss the juvenile non-sense and other questionable modding (poke/stretch, ridiculous wings on a FWD vehicle.. etc.). I do miss the community feeling.

Lol i hear you I kinda just left the VW community myself! and yeah the best perk was leaving the drama behind but you cant be too surprised dealing with youngens lol.

I think we can definitely get the community vibe going here in OC with the right group. Maybe get some get togethers goin...

Pretty disappointing that the M community is slowly declining now that M's are becoming less of an enthusiast thing and more of a status thing.

I think it's hit or miss really. I've come across some pretty cool people: I saw a YMB F80 but I wasn't able to fully get side to side with him in traffic on local streets. A guy in a Laguna Seca Blue E46 M3 pulled up and we both remarked about the coincidence of three M generations all together randomly on a public road. Then a guy and his girl in a 991 were in the carpool lane on the freeway, he drove up slowly and he gave me the thumbs up, I gave him the thumbs up back and he drove away slowly.

Then I can across a YMB F80 where it was younger guy driving like a freaking maniac and when I finally caught up to him to wave hello he kind of reluctantly "yeah yeah" waved at me and he floored it to get away.

Interesting fact I read somewhere that sales of M cars are up some crazy number like 60%. Rich are definitely getting richer and I do somewhat agree that M's have become more of a status symbol than an enthusiast community.

Just saw a LSB F80 M3 in person at a local C&C. WOW, LSB looks so good in person. Too bad it's not a stock color anymore.

And yeah, I never get a thumbs up in SoCal. There are too many of us here or we're all too cool. Who knows.
