No Delivery of BMWNA M3's Till Launch!!

Hey Guys,
... and gals!

I dont know how many of you are waiting for your new BMW M3, but I just checked in on my newly produced E92 M3 which is waiting at the port in germany to be shipped...

AND although my car may well be ready for pickup within 3 weeks I was told today by BMW CUSTOMER CARE that I cannot have it until the official launch date in late march!!

Anybody heard anything similar?

Just called BMWNA, they said it would be somewhere in the beginning of march but they dont know when the exact date is. I hope it is on the 8th.

I was told March 8 by email from BMWNA customer service a couple weeks ago. Also, see this post from someone (Xcellere) whose car is already at west coast VPC (post #141):

"FINALLY spoke to someone who knew what they're talking about: the head of West Coast Distribution at the Oxnard VPC. He was a very nice guy and gave me tons of helpful info. He said that my car is sitting in storage and will be released to a transport on March 3rd. It should be at South Bay no later than March 4th with a definite release of March 8th."

I've spoken to BMWNA several times, the head of distribution at my dealership, and most importantly, the administrator at the west coast VPC, and they all said March 8th. The administrator from the VPC was actually quite pissed when I told him I received mixed messages from different BMW employees. He said that he sent out tons of messages that the 8th is the definite launch date, but apparently many didn't listen.

wow. Thats a relief. My car is in the preparation centre now. It hasn't been shipped to the dealership yet. Do you guys think they are waiting for the launch to send it to my dealer?

From the administrator's own mouth: the cars will be shipped to dealerships on March 3rd, that way dealers can prep the cars for the March 8th delivery. This coming from the guy who manages the West Coast VPC. No better person to talk to.

I know several have been told or emailed the date but has there been anything officially published in writing by BMW stating 8 March is the release date?

Reason asking is my dealer said they have not seen any kind of "official memo" with this date.

The west coast administrator I spoke to said he sent a memo out to all western dealerships regarding the March 8th release date.

He confirmed March 8 as the delivery date. According to Owner's Circle, my car is at the VPC. The dealer could not get any information whether my car would be arriving with the demo on March 7 or 8 or whether it would arrive the following week. Is anyone else in this same boat? I am really getting tired of waiting--especially since I just sold my E46 M3 that I have been driving since April 2001.

According to Owner's Circle, my car is at the VPC.
