R888's on a daily?

Has anyone daily driven on R888s? I have a short commute and I live in a hot climate that gets very little rain. I'm on the fence about getting either R888s or AD08s.

I'm going RE-11's. I would go AD08's but they are a bit more pricey for about the same level of performance. I wonder if the R888's are THAT loud.

The loudness will depend on what exhaust you have on your car. They told me the NT05's were loud but I don't hear a thing...

Yok's are loud also - it's a constant humming noise - if you don't like drone you won't like the noise these tires make.

I wanted to get AD08's but Tire Rack was out of stock so I ordered RE-11's that I had installed yesterday. I dont hear ANY tire noise but then again ... I do have an aftermarket exhaust.

Ill find out how they fare up on the track tomorrow when im at Mont Tremblant with them (LCMT).

I have a loud exhaust so tire noise doesn't mean much to me.

The size options for the RE-11's don't really work for me. I want to do 265/30-19 front and 295/30-19 rear. R888 and AD08 both fit the bill and are popular. Right now I'm leaning toward the Yoko's. If I get caught out in the rain I know I won't be totally screwed. But that extra grip the R888's offer is pretty tempting. I need pretty much every advantage I can get to stay even remotely close to the GTRs and whatnot around here.

I ran NT-01 daily on my stripped out s2000. It wasn't that bad on the rain either.

Go for it, only issue is that they donīt last long but I for one am willing to forgo longevity for performance any day.

If you want the R888's to perform at its best, then it might be a better idea to have a 2nd set of wheels. Once the R888's get multiple heat cycles and sit in the hot weather all the time they do get a bit hard.

+1 Also, don't forget about all the crap you drive through on the street that you don't drive through on tracks. Gas, oil, antifreeze, tar, soot, etc. wreaks havoc on R-compound (or similar) tires. Just don't expect them to perform at their optimum once you get them on the track (if that is your plan). If all you want them for is the street, I feel there are better options available that will provide nearly as much grip, but behave more consistently and last longer due to resistance to everday crap found on streets.
