Run in with a 911 turbo

My adrenalin is still pumping. It wasnt a drag race or any other crazy boyish fantasy come true...just a traffic light, an iconsiderate Civic si coupe owner (had a lot of mods on this one) and this kid in a 911 turbo. I beleive the two of them were racing.

I was returning home on this lazy sunday evening and was cruising to this stop light, my gear in neutral (mines a 6-spd manual) , when this civic cuts me off and rolls in front of me. Luckily for me and unluckily for him, before I reached a complete stop the light turns green...so he had to start from a standstill and I on the other hand shifted into second, cut into the right lane and flew past him.....the kid in the 911 had a similar idea, so he followed me and when we were a quarter mile ahead of all the traffic, he flew past me in the left lane...DAMN was he fast.

I am not sure what amazed me the most, the raw feral power of my 335 or the absolute vulgarity in which he destroyed my 15 seconds of fame!!!! That thing should be illegal. I will own one of those in the next few years!!!!!

Nice .... My old Evo pulled on a Turbo S on freeway run ... we did it 3 times 60mph runs... NO BS eaither ... we ran up to 120 (where we stopped because I ran out of gear and I know above 120 the Turbo would own). My friend who owns the Turbo S just about crapped him self ...lol ...in fact he is looking into buying a Evo for a weekend car now.

Use to be ... car was sold to my friend ... got over bucket Bride seats and a roll bar and 12kg coilover springs and a 90mm full ti exhaust. ... it wasn't exactly comfy.

As for the Porsche .... I honestly thought I was going to get my ass handed to me ...but I had a slow pull on him ...nothing huge .... just about a hood length from 60-120.

The 335i driver was bad. If the OP only knew how to drive his 335i properly I am sure he could have pulled a 1.8 sec 0-60!!

Just messing. I appreciate the OP's honesty. The 335i is a great car but a 911 Turbo is in a different class altogether.

TY..you have to pay respect where it is due. I might have been a little faster if I knew he was coming onto me, but the element of surprise and my loss of concentration when I saw him scream past just made me give up. Those things are a different breed of animal....a true levithian piece of engineering

Supras are fast in a straight line and thats it ... worlds worst track car.

I have rapped so may so called "exotics" on the track that its not even funny. My old lic plate was "EGOKILR" for a reason. Porche Club days where the best at Spring Mountain as guys in their Turbos and their Ford GTs and even 360 Modenas hated it when that had to give me the point by since i was breathing down their ass.

Yeah, there's no way an Evo could ever be faster than "real sports cars" I mean a cheap "rice mobile" could never hang with an Italian sausage or German wundercar... right?
