Ok well just found an 08 with all I want but it has 33,000 miles. That seems high particularly if it is not CPO. Any advice on that? This would actually be cheaper than I'd intended so I could get some mods (mainly cosmetic and an exhaust) with the leftover but I'm a little concerned about warranty and maintenance. Should I wait for lower miles? Thanks so much!

If you're getting one with iDrive, i would wait for an 09'. Have you considered buying one that is outside of your geographic area?

Agreed. There are plenty of cars out there. Keep looking until you find exactly what you want. Iv'e experienced that itch to just pull the trigger because you want an M3, but that itch can sometimes lead you to make compromises that you will regret down the line. BE PATIENT!!! |

I bought into the hype of the DCT and ordered it on my 09 although I've been a MT enthusiast most of my life. I truly wished I hadn't. I may change my mind if I decide to convert it to a f/t track car but until then, I miss my 6MT for daily driving.

Being able to be in the optimal gear at all times? I can't imagine DCT NOT being an advantage! I don't have track experience but at least from normal driving situations, being able to select a gear more rapidly & precisely is a huge bonus. Plus, it's one less thing to distract you from learning proper driving technique on a course. |

Also, with all things being equal, DCT should make a mediocre driver better. Never miss-shifting, always being in the right gear, perfect rev-matching every time, etc … But for me, I’d rather have good rev-matching all day with a hand full of perfect ones on each lap. Those perfect ones stay in your memory for a long time. Unlike the robot matched revs. …. In my opinion of course.

there have been a lot of problems with the DCT, if you're a fan of 6MT I say go for it, you won't regret it
