question regarding bmw part #

I have a 2010 M3 and my A/C control panel died on me last week.

When I called the dealership they told me that according to my car's VIN # the part # for the A/C control panel is 9292262. and that retail cost of the part is $782. and wholesale price is $625.

I found this part on ebay that came from a 2011 M3. and is selling for only $148. but it has a different part number would that be an issue?

Your link does not show any AC panel part

Try realoem.com to verify if a part will fit

According to this link on realoem.com when I put the part number they told me at the dealership 64119292262. it give me a list of other parts...and one of the numbers listed there is the part # of the unit I found on Ebay. So does that mean it would work?

The reason there are multiple part numbers is because the part may have been updated at a certain point. I don't know how BMW does it, but I know other manufacturers put a letter or something similar on the end (such as "B" to mean second revision). Sometimes the changes are invisible, others may be due to a recall or TSB. I've even seen instances where the part was improved on a later vehicle and is now retroactively used.

If the part is cross-referenced as being compatible/equivalent, you *should* be okay.
