Custom one off "iHide" knob

So I got myself a new carbon console.

The problem: It has idrive cutout and my car doesn't have idrive.

The solution: A black anodized weed grinder. I cut the screen out of it and mounted upside down. Looks like a factory knob but unscrews to reveal a secret compartment. Finished it off suede trim to match my wheel, shift and ebrake boots.

Im calling it a "iHide™" knob

DISCLAIMER: Grinder is no longer functional. Only to be used as a stash spot

I am about to be in the same position (ordered trim but the only one with convertable top button has this same cutout).
I was just gonna make a blanking plate

That was one of my ideas as well but felt it still wouldve looked like a empty space. Wanted something that kinda looked like it belonged. You're in NY hit me up if you want help.

Nice job, would be so much cooler w fake nav, radio, tel, etc buttons surrounding it. It would look like a factory piece.

Thanks man. Thought about that but didn't for couple reasons. Thought non functional buttons wouldn't be nice, wanted something unique and a I would've had to hunt for a broken idrive to use.
