Placed my order today!

AW E92
Carbon leather interior
Competition package
Convenience package
M-DCT.

I was lucky that there was an open slot on week 50 production. I guess the car will be here (Seattle) around mid February.

Sorry, you're asking the interior. I went with cloth interior. As much as I like the leather, it is PITA (for me) to keep it clean/conditioned in the long run. I intend the to keep this for a long time.

I am curious about this statement. I ordered mine on Friday evening (11/26). I received a call from my CA a few hours later and was told the order was placed. Is there an issue with ordering a car during the last week of November?

I'm not knowledgable enough to give a preciese answer. What I'm told and what I've seen is that every dealer has some allowed production lots on certain dates. So tomorrow (11/29) is the closing day for week 50 production. After that, when you place an order, you have to wait till week 3. This might be the case for my dealer, meaning, if you go to another dealer they might have a production lot for week 51. Or most likely I'm just smoking crack

Thanks mate. Lucky me, the winter is here in Seattle. So I wouldn't have too many occasions to drive anyway. But it still sucks that i'll have to wait.

You are correct about it depending on the dealer. I ordered mine on Friday 11/26 and the dealer flexed a 328 order into my M3 for week 47 (this week). The change even showed up on BMW USA website on Saturday. They expect the car here the first week of January!!!

OK, my client adviser (salesguy) gave me a 6-8 week lead time for delivery. I will have to see how close his estimate is.

BTW, I ordered a jerez black convertible with bamboo beige. The biggest difficulty I had was choosing the color.

Factory is closed from Dec 18th to January 10th so if you don't get a week 50 production date it jumps to mid January.....

If the factory is closed, what happens to orders placed for week 50 production? In other words, how long does it take to produce an M3?

Jimmy, thanks. I already emailed Ryan to let him know that I'm going with a local dealer. Thanks again for the help. The logistics just didn't work out.

It takes about 3 days to paint and assemble a car.
I would expect they would stop incomplete orders and finish them
after the break. They are not going to rust......

hey erhanh,
I'm in Seattle and have started working with a local dealer. Can you give me some insight on your dealings with your local dealer (probably Seattle or Bellevue BMW I suspect). What was your expeience, particularly in setting a price. Thanks.

Well, I am wrong this year. BMW just announced that they are keeping their plant open over the holidays and not taking a 3 week shut-down like the last couple of years. this is due to the high demand present.
