I think pictures don't do justice! I am pretty sure the powerdome will not look as awkward in person. Damn, even if it does it's one of the only M characteristics left in the E92 I will definitely keep it

It is the bulge on the bonnet necessary in theory to make place for the monster engine but in reality 90% cosmetic. se

Yes, agreed; in this case it`s not form follows function ( as it should be) that`s the reason I dislike it, a smaller one would do it more justice IMO

Everyone wants the M3 to distance itself from the regular 3-series, and when they continue to add one of the signature styling cues that was present on the almighty e46 even, some want to delete it?

I will admit it does bother me that it isn't necessary from a functional standpoint, at least it doesn't appear to be. It kind of reminds me of a '98 Cobra I owned for 7 years, with the vents on either side of it.

Off course the E46 M3 has a power dome, but it`s far more sophisticated i.e. more low profile; yes I like the E46 M3 dome more.

the assumption in this question is that the dome is purely cosmetic ...
i don't accept the premise ... but for the sake of argument, no i'd keep it.

i like it.

Why on earth would I delete the powerdome if I could????
Even if it does not have a function, it still is very nice to see the hood differ from the regular Coupe, and also to have a visual of what might be under the bonnet.

Also, glancing at it while you drive is very nice..
Delete it - NO WAY!

Sounds like you would rather just throw the V8 engine in a standard 3 series coupe!

From the pictures it appears that the bulge is required for the airbox.
