^^Shimmy23's IB/Bamboo Pictorial Journal^^

Had a little journal on my e46 M back in the day, so I thought I'd share my e90 build too. Link to e46 build here:
http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showthread.php?t=440306

This thread will serve as a pictorial of my ownership.

I picked up my "new to me" e90 IB/bamboo back in July, purchase from a fellow forum member here. I initially was not on the hunt for any specific color, rather options took priority. It just so happened that this Interlagos Blue checked all my requirements and was reasonably priced. After a few texts, calls and conversations with the Seller, this IB was loaded onto the trailer and headed up to the PNW.

What I loved about this car was the clean and up to date maintenance history. Not only had the previous owner taken excellent care of this car, but RBs and TAs had already been replaced as preventative maintenance! Its been a Cali car its entire life!

2008 IB/Bamboo, 6MT w/EDC (purchased @75k miles)

Nice - been waiting for this! I loved your e46; had one around the same time you did and you almost convinced me to FI. Alas I had a second kid and I ended up in an e90 as well. Great car and glad you're posting!

Thanks man and I remember your e46... CB right? I still wish I would have kept the e46. I miss it a lot. Did you get the LCI rear figured out?

Yup. CB with brombachers. Really miss that thing but the e90 is certainly making up for it

Stopped looking for the LCI upgrade. After wheels, suspension, exhaust, and some small cosmetic upgrades I had to take a break and just enjoy for a while.

Keep us updated!

Nice!

Did you change out the shocks before installing the swift springs?

If you're free, would love to see the drop in person. I'm planning the same with the same wheels + spacers.

Did you install the springs yourself?

After seeing your car this weekend and the corresponding linked picture gallery below, I'd say your build thread is quite outdated!

Are you suggesting a photoshoot update?
Cause I'll charge test fitting a 219m front/rear wheel for brake clearance!

I'm due for a good shoot. I just can't bring myself to get up super early and hit the spots I like.

Finally threw my custom 20" BBS RSGTs on! Fitment is spot on with no spacers. Parts are piling up on the garage, including a set of ohlins coilovers I need to install.

Did some maintenance today. The deflection pulley was on its way out, so while I had the intake and fan clutch assembly removed I decided to just replace all pulleys, tensioners, belts and associated hardware.

Used this page for torque specs
https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/e...lement/PgzXOMt

And this page for the DIYer
http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1162212

Quick shots of old tensioners and a couple pulleys (deflection pulley not shown)

all done!

Installed my Ohlins R/T coilovers. I previously had swift springs paired with OEM EDC. While I was very happy with the swift springs, I wanted to be a little lower. Since I rarely used the EDC, I opted for a beautiful set of Ohlins.

followed a few DIYer threads:
