Great wheel repair option - Son Tran

I had a very minor wheel rash repaired on my RAC RG63 wheels a few day back by Son Tran. I managed a very long run with no damage to them but finally had my meeting with fate... Anyway the quality of his work has been shown in prior threads. He can repair minor rash all the way to major damage. I know, I know I should have taken some before and after pictures but I'm getting pretty lazy with the forum. Needless to say I'm a perfectionist and I could not see his repair work. A few details

1. I think he typically works only in the LA/LB/OC areas.
2. His prices are very fair
3. The quality I have seen and that I got was absolutely top notch
4. He's mobile - he comes to you.
5. He threw in a couple of very small nick touch ups at no charge.

Give him a call or email if you want your wheels like new again

Was he really able to match the finish? Curious how he managed that... The metallic fleck in the finish for RG63s seems very hard to replicate. Glad to hear it worked out.

^ I would not be surprised if he could match a color with metal flake. He uses an airbrush and mixes paint on the spot. My wheels, however, are the semi-gloss black (not sure if that is the official RAC color name or not). It was probably fairly easy to match.

Nice!

Just curious - did he just spot touch up the rash, or did he repaint the whole face to hide it? Have some touch up work to get done myself here locally on the wife's 328 and 1 rear wheel on the M3.

I'm fairly sure that for a minor or major repair the patching and painting are pretty much localized to the area of damage. My entire face absolutely was not repainted. Of course the tine touch up are just that as well - spot work.
