Skyline Run 2012?
Addressed to DarkstarZero-
Any word on when the first run of the year will be scheduled? Would suggest doing a one day event as opposed to a 2 day run where it would be tough logistically for a lot of folks. Seems like Saturday is the best day for most of us considering the polls we've taken over the last 2 years. Any roads in rural MD that come to mind? If not-VA or West VA it is... |

definitely would be in (scheduling permitting) -- would you do another one of those donation runs? Also what was the LEO situation last time, many speeding tickets?

The only person I recall getting ticketed was one person who I won't mention. This occurred after the event was over, everyone dispersed, and went their separate ways. I think he got something for a loud exhaust, maybe speeding. If you do a skyline run thread search, I'm sure you can figure out who it is We typically drive on obscure back roads where as LEOs hang out on main roads. * knock on wood*

For those that haven't participated, it's a blast!!! I went with Darkstar and about 7 cars last year in the fall and it was filled with awesome views and plenty of tight turns

Hey everyone! Glad to see everyone still excited about the Skyline Runs I've put together. As far as I know, no one has started anything similar where the point is to stay on twisty back roads which is a lot more fun than sitting in traffic on I95 like some other runs.
So, something simple for the first run of the year? One of the routes we've already done perhaps? Lunch at the now traditional Melting Pot Pizza in Front Royal? mmmm melting pot... Since it would be the first run of the year, I wont make it a donation run or limit it to european cars, just to drive interest. Then depending on how many come, I'll make the next run a donation one which should hopefully raise lots of money for a good cause, The Wounded Warrior Project most likely. What do you guys think?

The weekend of April 14th gets my vote as well! My Porsche is down for a turbo upgrade and some maintenance and probably won't be up by the 7th-8th.

Here's the issue; I'm spending next weekend with my family, I'll be working the following weekend, and the weekend after that I'll be at Summit Point tracking the M3. So for me the earliest date would be the 28th unless you guys want to do something quick next Saturday, the 7th, to Melting Pot in Front Royal, since my family lives around there, it would probably a 2 hour run.
