Need advice on best tire

Hi!
I have stock 18's. I am looking for advice on a new set of tires that are good for DD, but will also perform well at the track. Would like to get all 4 for around $1000 or less.

OP, look into Vreds if you want something with a little less grip but will last a LONG time, or NT05's if you're willing to give some some longevity for a little more grip. The Star Spec's would probably be somewhere in between if they have the right size.

I bought a set of PSS in 275/35-18 and have put about 1K street miles on them and done one track weekend with them. I am very pleased. It is a better track tire than the PS2, and a very good dual purpose tire. If you are used to a more track-oriented tire, such as the Yoko AD08, you will notice a softer sidewall in the PSS, resulting in a less precise turn in and generally slightly less responsive handling, but still a much better street tire.

Didn't know they were cheaper than the PS2.
But I was thinking the OP meant $1,000 installed.

I went with the NT05's, will see how good they are at BW tomorrow.

The NT05s are great street/track tires. They come with around 7/32th tread so they do wear out faster than other street tires but they grip pretty well. I think you'll be pretty satisfied with their dry grip. The only draw back I had from them is their wet grip and the noise they made after 50% wear.

PSS or PS2 are great if you want to spend money. They also perform really well as many forums members have praised.

If you want something that is best bang for the buck, Hankook Ventus V12 are definitely a great choice too! They are pretty quiet and perform really well for summer tires.
