Another M3 with a real base audio system
Hi everybody,
I recently bough an e93 M3 with 9000 km on it. The car has a base audio system, no amp, no tweeters in a-pillar, just 4 speakers and 2 subs. I had a Logic 7 system in my former 335i. I am not the guy who needs the greatest audio system in a car but I would like to have a better sound solution ( it does not sound good to me currently ) compared to now. I plan to place the front tweeters in the OEM tweeter housings. Also, the new system should not require huge wiring efforts which means I would love to keep OEM wiring to the speakers and the subs, if possible. Which components would you recommend for: AMP Speakers SUB's Ideally the new speakers and subs should fit in the OEM locations. Thank you for your feedback. Eugen |

Did some research and came up with the following approach:
Audio upgrade e93 M3 1 x Alpine PDX-5 2 x OEM tweeters (A-pillar), only need the housings for OEM look 2 x MB-Quart RUA-210 front speakers or better MB-Quart PVI-210 ? ( have to compare sizes ) 2 x MB-Quart DKG-110 US rear speakers ( do they fit ? ) 2 x Earthquake SBS-8 ( 4 Ohm ) The front tweeters can be installed in OEM housings. The system should not noise or hiss at all. - Would this be any good ? - Do I need a processor like the Alpine PXE-H650 IMPRINT Audio Processor ? - Front RUA-210 or PVI-210 speakers ? - Rear DKG-110 US speakers will fit ? - Are adapters needed for speakers and / or subs ? - Can I use the OEM wiring for the speakers ? - Your thoughts about noise / hiss ? Thanks, Eugen |

2) Not required, although it could help some. 3) Try the RUA 213 in the front as this is an E93. 4) Use the RUA 210 in the rear panels (add the tweeter grill) or the Rainbow KX 100 coaxial. 5) Yes, and some custom work. 6) Yes, although you will need to run new underseat woofer wires from the PDX-5. 7) You will need to add a line output converter to your OEM HU outputs first before connecting that PDX-5, and depending of which quality LOC you use you could experience hiss or not. |

After a little more research, it looks like the order code for the 2011 M3 audio is 676 HiFi sound system. Does this mean it has the 10 (or 8) speaker system with the amp?
