Hot Trunk on the Track?

Hey guys,

Since I installed my Moton CS I've been keeping an eye on the remote cannister's temperature. My rears are mounted inside the trunk compartment.

My rear cans get a lot hotter than my fronts, and then I realized that my entire trunk area is hot. Does anyone else noticed this? I assume it's heat from the exhaust?

(By hot I mean comfortable to touch for about 1 second, but not any longer.)

Thanks.

its the exhaust that makes the trunk so hot. mine gets crazy warm as well. how bout letting lowering the back seats when youre tracking? this should control the temps in the trunk.

I never checked after a session. Guess I'll have to hood and truck up after session now.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

Yep the complete back of the car is hot.I guess it is a combination of airflow from the engine compartment and other driveline components and the exhaust.

Very hot back there. Melted the plastic on spiral notebook I had secured under the matting while I was at the track.

Thanks guys for the info. I guess as long as the trunk does not get too hot, things would be OK.

I prefer a slow strip tease for starters I will probably do so after I get a club racing license.
